Description: THE SELLERIf you’re active in the watch community, you will have no doubt heard the phrase, “buy the seller”. Thus, it seems fitting to start here with a small introduction.I guess I would refer to myself as a collector and enthusiast. I got into watches, in a big way,7 years ago. Since then I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, spent hours on forums, and visited untold number of AD’s and boutiques around the world. I’ve been to live watch events and talked at length with other fellow community members. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing hundreds of watches first-hand, across many types, brands, and price points.Throughout this journey, I have purchased more than 120 watches for my collection, selling nearly100 of these watches on to new homes. Being party to well over 200 watch transactions, I think it is fair to say I’ve got some experience. I try to sell watches the way I would like other sellers to do when I am the buyer. I try to make sure that the pictures I provide are above-average, thereby allowing one to get a good look at the cosmetic condition. If I know there are flaws beyond very light normal wear, I will disclose it. If I know of mechanical issues, I will disclose it. Nearing 100 sales, I have yet to hear from anyone who was disappointed with the watch they received. As a result of this selling approach, I have earned perfect feedback here on eBay and also the Watchuseek platform. Until Chrono24 implements feedback for private sellers, you will have to take my word for it, but there are dozens and dozens of happy buyers there too. THE WATCHPanerai PAM 372I purchased this watch 2 years ago. It is a 2013 production year model.I’m selling it because I have a number of other Panerai and the 372 represents some overlap with other similar models. That said, I love the watch and would happily keep it but for the fact that the collection has grown too large. With a possible move out of country next year, it just seems wise to lighten the load a little.Comes full set, box and papers. There is no warranty left. ConditionThe watch is in exceptional condition, especially for a watch of this age.Bracelet: Factory sheer-cut leather strap with minor wear and creasing.Case: To the naked eye, the watch appears flawless. Under loupe there is some faint wear on the hi-polish, but no significant dents or even scratches. I don’t imagine it looks all that different from the day it was factory fresh sitting in the shop window.Bezel: As with the case, it appears without blemish to the naked eye. Only under loupe is there evidence of minor surface wearCrystal: Give that it is plexi, not sapphire, there may be some faint scratches, but overall the crystal appears near flawless when viewed on wrist. My ImpressionsThis is one of the largest of the Panerai. Yet, it wears not much larger than my 44mm Luminors. I think it has to do with the box crystal giving the appearance of a small dial. There is just something about this watch that makes it a real pleasure to wear. The proportions are outstanding and come together to give an unparalleled wearing experience. I can see myself reacquiring a 372 at some future date, as I have no doubt I will miss having this one in the collection. I price my watches just a little below what you would pay at a reputable dealer for a similar watch (age, condition, completeness), realizing that buyers are going to want a small negative premium to buy from a lesser known entity. However, I also balance that with the knowledge that my watches are almost always in “very good” to “like new” condition, and may in fact be as nice, or nicer, than you would find at many dealers. I’ve seen dealers in North America list a watch as “very good” condition when the photos clearly show a watch that looks like someone fished it out of a running garburator. There are many times when the private seller is much more transparent than the dealer, so I feel there are times when a private seller deserves top dollar for their piece.I do consider offers. The market is constantly changing so sometimes a case can be made for a lower price, though not always. I’m happy to discuss reasonable offers. That said, making a two-thirds of asking price offer, then sending me a “comparable listing” for a watch being sold by a no feedback account from Moldova is not going to persuade me (yes, I’ve had this approach from a perspective buyers in the past). Also of note, you will likely find this watch listed on other platforms. This, as several buyers over the years have wrongly suggested, is not indicative of shadiness. It is merely a way to reach a wider pool of buyers. Once funds have cleared, I will be removing all other listings. You might also notice that pricing differs from platform to platform. This has to do with different commissions. They can range from 0% on a watch forum to 13% on a popular auction site. Feel free to choose the platform you’re comfortable with, just know that the final price will reflect it.Any questions, feel free to ask.
