PAIR Walter Von Nessen Era Skyscraper Art Deco Porcelain Sconces c.1931 RESTORED

Description: Dating to the early 1930’s, these porcelain sconces are a wonderful example of the machine age design. They were made by Efcolite of Trenton, New Jersey and are attributed to noteworthy designer Walter Von Nessen. He was the company's primary designer of "modern" fixtures and most all of their filed design patents bear his name. While these fixtures are of the same style, manufacture and time period as those patented under his name, absolute provenance for this specific design is elusive. These fixtures have been restored and refurbished and are ready for contemporary installation. Glazed exterior surfaces have been well cleaned and stripped of any residual paint. The original pull chain switched switch bulb sockets have been retained. The switch mechanisms have been lubricated and bulb contacts have been cleaned and polished. Original porcelain chain pulls are present. All wiring has been refurbished with new. Vintage chrome plated brass caps and new mounting hardware are included to assist with your installation, as shown. These sconces utilize standard medium Edison base light bulbs (not included).
