These vases are in good condition. Note: tiny enamelling defects (small enamel break under the neck of the left vase), some wear over time, see photos. * Bayeux porcelain is a ceramic production which developed from the beginning of the 19th century. The Bayeux factory closed its doors in 1952. In 1810, Joachim Langlois opened a porcelain factory and from 1820 produced the famous Imari-inspired blue-red-and-gold decorations and Chinese decorations. In 1850, the heiresses (daughters of the Widow Langlois) had to sell the company to François Gosse, a ceramic decorator in Paris. This diversifies the production without ever abandoning the previous settings. When François Gosse died in 1870, his son Paul succeeded him. He managed the factory for two years, before passing away in his turn. His widow took over until 1878. The Gosse family was succeeded in 1878 by a family of ceramic engineers, the Morlents. Bayeux productions are still very popular today.Neck diameter : 0.8 cmDiameter at the bottom : 1.8 cmHeight : 5.5cm Reference : 500 860 Pair of small miniature vases in polychrome Bayeux* porcelain, with so-called Chinese decoration, representing two Chinese characters, one holding a basket, the other seated in front of a vat, all surrounded by a colorful and stylized plant motif, most certainly Veuve Langlois period (1830-1849) or Gosse period (1848-1878), 19th century vintage. is a ceramic production which developed from the beginning of the 19th century.
