Pair of HANDLAN Railroad CABOOSE Marker 4WAY Lamps

Description: Pair of HANDLAN Railroad CABOOSE Marker 4WAY Lamps - D & RGW DENVER & Rio GRANDE NOTE: I have decided to sell these Handlan caboose marker lamps as a set rather than separate due to several knowledgeable folks advising that from a collector’s standpoint, they are worth far more together, both monetarily and historically. So, some clarifications in order for this listing:One lamp is marked D & R G W across the very top Handlan plate and also marked D R G & W on the side with the slide lens - so, this one is marked twice. The other matching lamp is unmarked but both were found together and have a very similar look, wear patterns, and patina - In my opinion and in other collectors who have viewed these lamps in person feel that they definitely knew each other quite well !!! This auction is for BOTH LAMPS as pictured !!! Each lamp stands about 15 inches tall up to the top of the HANDLAN marked cap, the bail handle will add another 5 inches for an overall height of about 20 inches, its very heavy too at about 12 pounds un-boxed. Note: I will remove the 4 colored glass lenses on each lamp and pack them separately inside each of the shipping boxes for safer transit - these will need to ship as 2 packages no exceptions !!! There are 3 yellow/amber and 1 red lens per lamp. The orientation of this pair is correct if was mounted on an actual caboose left and right side - red lamp being positioned toward the rear on each side - more evidence they were most likely together. Both look to be in pretty great overall shape with only minimal surface rust in a few places, nothing bad at all, everything mechanically that is supposed to turn, open, push, or pull works just fine, looks like it is missing a riveted lip edge piece found on the top of the slidable lens panel on the unmarked one, also no burner assembly inside, other than that it looks complete, fortunately the D&RGW marked lamp is basically perfect just also missing the inside burner assembly. Lamps are in original unrestored condition and both have great surface patina. All of the lenses are made of glass and also look to be in great condition. These will be shipped via UPS Ground due to the weight and overall bulkiness and will require 2 separate boxes for safe transit to their new home - NO EXCEPTIONS !!! I will offer local pickup as shipping will obviously be expensive.
