Description: A pair of beautiful vintage Mayer China of Beaver Falls, PA., U.S.A. restaurant ware oval relish serving plates made for: "THE GREENERY", a bygone restaurant of the Ambassador Hotel located, I believe, in the circa 1928, Milwaukee, Wisconsin hotel in the Art Deco / Art Nouveau style(s). In the 1930's this hotel had a lounge pianist by the name of "Walter Busterkeys", who was a West Allis native and went on to become the renowned entertainer, Liberace. In 1960, JFK spoke at a United Chemical Workers convention there and in 1964 The Beatles stayed a night while taking Milwaukee by storm. Lastly, on Sept. 15, 1987 Jeffrey Dahmer murdered #17 in a guestroom. These heavy duty porcelain plates measure approximately 9" by 7-1/4". They have a gorgeous floral basket in the center and scalloped lines decorating the edge in two tones of rose and two tones of green on cream off white ground. We have two pairs of these in stock, if you would like more than one pair, please adjust the quantity at checkout. (The last picture shows both pairs.) Also larger platters, in this same pattern, are listed separately, if you are interested. Offered with "FREE Shipping" & 'Buy it Now' for your convenience.
