Description: For sale Stunning pair of antique hand carved solid Oak bracket shelves Dating to the early 19th century, possibly earlier, finely carved with an attractive 'fruit bowl' decoration with a central pineapple surrounded by figs and grapes with other fruit and foliage. Above the foliage, there is an unusual four point star shape which maybe has some significant meaning although I cannot be sure of this. Approx. dimensions - Each shelf - 45cm height x 33.5cm width across shelf x 30cm depth from wall / Weight 6.6kg I am unsure of the origin of these superb pieces but believe they are possibly French. In overall good antique condition with some expected rubbing and wear. There has been some damage and repair at the top of the fruit decoration of each one as shown. One of them has a small loss to the end of a leaf decoration behind the fruit. This is not noticeable once the shelf is hanging in place. There are two good sized mount holes on the back. Beautifully carved in fine detail, these impressive shelves would make a splendid addition to any home decor. The items I sell are in a used antique or vintage condition.
