Description: GOOD CONDITION This sale is for a vintage hardback edition entitled “Blandings Castle,” subtitled “And Elsewhere,” by P. G. Wodehouse (1881-1975). It was published by Penguin Books Ltd., of Harmondsworth, Middlesex, is the 1975 fourth impression of the 1954 FIRST PRINTING in this form (vintage paperback, formerly published in hardback - the FIRST EDITION was published in 1935 by Herbert Jenkins). A collection of short stories. The first six stories all take place at the book's namesake Blandings Castle. The seventh concerns Bobbie Wickham, an acquaintance and sometime fiancée of Bertie Wooster, and the last five are narrated by Mr Mulliner. The front cover art is by “Ionicus” the pen-name of Joshua Charles Armitage (1913–1998), best-known for illustrating the covers of these Penguin paperback editions of books by P. G. Wodehouse, although for 40 years he contributed cartoons and drawings to the Punch satirical magazine as well as illustrations to other books. The book measures 7.1 inches x 4.3 inches and has 255 pages. The book is in good, used but generally neat condition for a softback of its age, with wear around the faded spine and light foxing near the covers. There are NO inscriptions/book-plates and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is used but good with light creasing along the spine and no loose or missing pages.
