Description: Here is a rare and beautiful, original, "Bonnet baby", circa 1940, parian (unglazed) bisque shoulderhead doll, signed in script at the lower back left corner: c.1940 Clear. He is pictured in the booklet, "The Many Faces Of Emma Clear" by Ed KoLiBaBa and measures about, 13" tall with the loveliest, intaglio blue eyes with double lid lines, eye corner dots and highlights, delicate features with very sweetly shaped mouth and nose, softly blushed cheeks and painted, wispy blonde hair beneath his molded and finely, flower-decorated and light blue lined, baby bonnet with pierced holes and satin ribbon ties. (pictured in the first photos only, he is on the right in group photos, other models are for reference and not included) He has a soft matt-type finish to his fired bisque which is very becoming to him and parian bisque arms and legs with luster, matching flower decorated boots. He is in excellent condition having come from the long closed, "Humpty Dumpty Doll Hospital" in California, never sold or displayed. He was modeled after Gebruder Heubach's Stuart Baby bisque doll and has no damages or repairs, no stains and no odors as he is from a smoke free home. (loc 87) Please inquire if you would like information about his twin sister (also shown) and we will list her.
