To enhance snaglessness without decreasing hookset ratios, OSP extensively studied how brush guards are designed. They discovered it is best to put the adequate number of brush guards in a sideway oval hole instead of a round hole. This improves snaglessness by not increasing the length of the brush guard towards and into the hook. At the same time, OSP improved the Zero One's effectiveness with a custom head shape and high position line tie eye. The eye is installed in a higher position than center of gravity of the head. This results in making the jig stand up in a fish's mouth when you set the hook. Thus, you can set the hook firmly and deep in the upper jaw avoiding miss hooking.
