The Kikuyu tribe is the largest tribe in Kenya and the people are very industrious.Ndwiga from an early age had an intense interest in art. His brother, Daniel Njoroge, is the most well-known artist in Kenya at the moment. Daniel Njoroge learnt art from the famous artist David Shepherd. He is also the brother of David Michuki, another incredible talent!Ndwiga recalls that when he was very young he would often spend hours each day drawing figures of humans and animals in the dusty soil of his home. One could truly say that his style and appreciation of art, particularly the ‘wildlife art’, was cultured in the soil of Africa.Ndwiga did his primary education in his hometown, but his school did not place a great emphasis on art. Therefore, as he was determined to pursue his love of art, he asked his elder brother to start coaching him on the subject. Because art was in his blood it did not take him long to become a professional artist at an early age. His desire is for the world to take notice of his talents as well as his compatriots who are African – incredibly gifted and well-seasoned African wildlife artists.
