Description: The post-World War II era saw the growth of the ski industry worldwide as so many former military personnel looked for exciting new sports to enjoy. In the Seattle, Washington area there were a number of ski areas to enjoy and there were a handful local of ski equipment suppliers. In this image, reminiscent of European designs of the times, we see a bare chested climber using his ski equipment from Gerber Bros., Seattle. The Anderson & Thompson Ski Co. started in 1934 and Sid Gerber, who made and sold bear trap bindings bought into the ski operation. The new firm did a healthy business during the war, selling skis and bindings to the Army. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
