BiographyHe met Tamburini in 1978 and began publishing his first comics in Cannibale then in Frigidaire. In 1981, he published the first RanXerox where he painted an ultra-violent futuristic universe in a hyper-realistic way. This series, pre-published in L'Écho des savanes, remains by far the most famous of his creations. He moved to France in 1982 and illustrated the cover of Frank Zappa's The Man From Utopia in 1983.After volume 2 of RanXerox, he will only make rare forays into the world of comics. He then worked in cinema, collaborating in particular with Alain Chabat and won the 2003 César for best costumes for Asterix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre. Chabat co-wrote the third RanXerox in 1996.In 2007, this author, rather rare, released a new album entitled Lucy, l'Espagne. Produced with another of his cinematographic encounters, Patrick Norbert, this album explores the world of australopithecines and Lucy in a universe radically different from RanXerox. Liberatore's line is still as realistic but here it is entirely done on the computer and comes ever closer to photography.PublicationsComic stripRanXerox, ed. Albin Michel, coll.
