Description: Original signed 1985 Auto Dashboard Concept Proposal By Life-time Ford Designer John Gilson Gump.Very rare 14in x 17in original design of two dashboards of an automobile drawn on white onion paper. Not sure what kind of car this was for but it was designed in 1985 and signed by the artist. As the nephew of the late automotive designer John G. Gump, I inherited much of his artwork and have sold much of it but I have a few pieces left. My uncle "Jack" as he was known, left me hundreds of pieces of art, many museum quality pieces from his years as an automotive artist at Ford motor Company for 30+ years and then with GM for another 10. Mr. Gump worked on many concepts for FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY designing hubcaps, dashboards, headlights, seatbelts, hood emblems and ornaments - almost anything to do with automotive design for the Ford Thunderbird, Ford LTD, Mercury Comet, and the Edsel just to name a few. This work epitomizes the skills of a true master as all early car design work was done by hand with traditional art tools (no photoshop or computer). The art piece was signed by the artist in 1985. It’s beautifully drawn on white onion paper that measures approximately 14in x 17in. It's drawn with color pencils, markers and paint. The paper is in very good condition with no rips or tears, but please look closely before bidding. This would be great addition for any fine art collector or car design enthusiast. The art piece will be shipped with great care. Please feel free to message me any questions about the artwork.
