Description: Original bookplate, printed for magician Raymond J. Goulet's personal use. Approx: 3 3/8" x 3 3/4" In very good + to near fine condition. Raymond J. Goulet (1930–2017) was a renowned American magician, performer, and collector who made lasting contributions to the world of magic. Known for his engaging performances, often alongside his wife Ann, Goulet captivated audiences with his mastery of illusions, mentalism, and comedic magic. In addition to his career as a performer, he was a passionate collector and preservationist of magic history, housing a vast collection of rare artifacts, including items once owned by the legendary Harry Houdini. In 1976, he opened the Magic Art Studio in Watertown, Massachusetts, which featured a public museum, theater, and shop. Goulet was also instrumental in founding the New England Magic Collectors Association and produced the annual Magicale in Boston. His book Twelve Have Died (1986), which delves into the dangerous history of the bullet catch trick, further cemented his legacy as both a performer and a historian. Goulet’s deep impact on the magic community is felt even today, as his work continues to inspire magicians and collectors worldwide.
