Please take a look at my other merchandise at your leisure.You are bidding on: Antique Photo Morning Star Paddle Steamer Mississippi River, Iowa ~ Dated 1912 ~ Iconic American image of a barefoot family on the shores of the Mississippi looking out at a Paddle Steamer named the Morning Star. Photo is postcard-sized at 3.25 x 5.5 inches. Dated in pen on verso "1912". I am making an assumption based on other photographs in this collection, from this time frame, also taken in Iowa. I also found some history (University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries) for this paddleboat that states: "In the summer of 1911 she ran a special cruise from Davenport (Iowa) to New Orleans and out to the Jetties and return. A similar excursion planned for April 1912 was canceled due to high water; instead she ran an excursion from Davenport-Cincinnati and back." Photo Measures 3.25 x 5.5 Inches.
