Total measurements: approx. 60,5x43,5x5cm with frame, approx. 50x33cm painting Historical context: Karel Kostial was born in 1878 in Vrchlabi and died in 1943.In the years 1895 – 1900, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts with prof. Schikaneder and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He painted portraits, landscapes, still lifes and compositions of the Munich style from the Jugend circuit. He was a member of the Metznerbund, an association of German visual artists in Bohemia (Tomanuv Slovnik).
