Description: Exceptionally nice copy of the song, based on the traditional blues/folk tune 'Ballad of Stack-o-Lee' which became a #1 hit for Price despite being censored for its 'raunchy' lyrics. This is the initial version of the release in which Lee Shelton and Billy Lyons were playing cards, eventually leading to Shelton shooting and fatally wounding Lyons. Flip side is the attractive "You Need Love," co-written by Price which has some marking on the vinyl which does not affect play. Don Costa's orchestra and chorus add to the performance. The record comes in a vintage ABC-Paramount Artist Sleeve.
