Bare and leafless they are as they conceal part of the landscape. Yet this is a strange leaflessness, a glorious one. The branches are bare, fantastic arms, reddish and gold, dancing and reaching out to all vast space around. A sweet scent comes from afar, intoxicating Nature and Man. The wings of the Spring seem to rustle. Warm breezes dry the fishermen's net stretched between the two trees. The lights of the dawn send sparkles over the waves. The air is sweet and gentle with a fine early morning shine that swathes the toiling fishermen.
