Description: This is a traditional Japanese Furisode Kimono which is formally worn by n unmarried woman, a child who attends a shrine to represent crossing into the stage from a child to a woman or by one of Japans Famous Butterfly of the Night or Kyoto’s famous Geisha or their little sister apprentice Miko. They come from their Geisha Homes to attend formal functions as skilled professionals to preform by singing, dance, playing of musical instruments as well as very verses in many issues such as global issues, history and such. They are also one of Japans Top Models since a lot of their garments run up to hundreds of thousands of dollars and typically only worn once. I have taken a typical formal kimono and being half Japanese and with a true honor of my heritage and with respect of the culture, take tradition and modify the garment to bring into a new style and design. The origional garment was constructed 100% hand made. In respect to that style, the modifications I have completed in the same fashion. So whether you wear this garment to lounge in comfort or to attend a function, do so as the beautiful butterfly by night and give a new life to this piece. The piece is in excellent condition. Please see pictures for details. Do No Hand or Machine Wash! DRY CLEAN ONLY. Listing is for Kimono Jacket and Obijimi tie only. Thank you. One size fits all. Kimono measures shoulder to shoulder: 27” and length: 33” Sleeves: width: 13” and length of sleeves: 42” This is an exceptional long sleeve length for this type of kimono. Most likely made for dance.
