Description: I am not sure what to call these (have 5 different images in multiples) "Lobby Type Movie Posters", but will give it a try. I believe they were made for the movie industry in the late 1940's. My husband was often trading for unusual things and these were found packed in 3 large boxes in our storage warehouse. They are lithograph posters, each in 2 pieces and paper taped together at the seam. They appear to have been manufactured in this manner and may even be mock ups for the eventual heavy paper posters as I see light blue lines and shading as if they were "testing" the final product. I unrolled one of each causing a hint of wrinkle as seen in the pics but the rest and the ones being sold are all tightly wrapped in protective paper without blemishes that you see here. Whatever these posters are, they are beautiful artworks from a bygone period of American printing and movie making. I could find no evidence of any maker's name on any of the posters I unwrapped. There was, hand written in blue pencil, the phrase "6 sheets, Dick Whittington" on the back margin of the seam, otherwise, no other identifying marks. The marque shows blank at top, ostensibly to post movie times? Each of the posters offered here measures 40" x 90" and will be mailed in tube. (BKCNR)
