Description: 10k gold and black enamel memorial piece Antique Traditional Victorian mourning locket with black enamel and Gothic lettering spelling out "In Memory Of." This locket was expertly modified into a pin during its period. The back of the locket is missing (this typically would have been a clear cover with a lock of hair on the inside), leaving the back an open concave space. In the middle is a gold plate with a name, some text, and the date 1840. The locket is 1 3/4 inches high, including the bale, and is 1 1/2" inches in diameter. The total weight is 9.3g. It is in good antique condition, showing wear, scratches and and use. The intricare pin mechanism works as intended. The enamel is intact with only light surface scratching commensurate with age.
