Description: This is an original antique book print/plate from "A New Royal and Universal Dictionary of Arts and Sciences: or, Complete System of Human Knowledge" Printed 1772, published by J. Cooke at Shakespear's Head, Pater-Noster Row, London. The print shows various illustrations relating to plotting, including Planisphere, Protractor, Plotting Scale, Plotting Table The engraving is on handmade 'laid paper'; the overall size of the page including margins is approx 15" wide x 9.25" tall (38cm x 23.5cm); the reverse side is blank. There is age related wear, edge tears, creasing, staining/page discolouration - please study the photos carefully to ensure you are happy with the condition prior to bidding A Georgian book plate over 240 years old; would make a nice framed piece or as an addition to an antique ephemera collection.
