Description: ORIGINAL RANDY OWENS 'SUBWAY BARBER' SIGNED LIMITED EDITION SERIGRAPH ARTIST PROOF This is just a great original piece. This is one of two original Randy Owens original prints I acquired from a local estate. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is a very desirable work by the artist, unfortunately, it is not in perfect condition. Image measures 19 x 25 inches on complete original sheet measuring 23 1/4 x 29 inches. Signed, dated, titled, and notated in pencil below the image. As you can notice with close inspection, there were 2 water drops that landed on the top margin of the print. It spread into the image and slightly smudged the ink of the image. Perhaps a few very small scuffs in the image but nothing too bad. Some slight handling creases in the margins. For those not familiar with the artist his biography from his website reads: "Randy Owens was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 24, 1955 and grew up in Vienna, Virginia. Randy majored in fine art at Northern Virginia Community College and shortly pursued a career as a tennis professional. Randy was drawn to the vibrant colors, clean form and crisp edges of serigraphy (silkscreen printmaking) and after being introduced to auto racing in 1978, Randy began making serigraphs of motor racing subjects in his own unique style. Randy has established a strong place in the American racing art scene, having produced over 300 handmade serigraph editions. Randy has signed his name to more original pieces of art than any other automotive artist in history. His realistic style is modern and evolutionary and the use of color and motion is the central theme.Over the years, Randy has staged over 200 exhibitions of his work in five countries, including the Axis Galleries in Tokyo and 10 year retrospective shows at the famous l’art et l’automobile Gallery in New York City and the National Automobile Museum in Reno, NV. Since 1991, Randy has produced paintings for an annual motor racing calendar for Bridgestone.
