Description: An incredibly scarce -- possibly the only copy left in existence -- original November 1968 playbill/showcard for the premier production of William F. Brown's "How to Steal an Election: A Dirty Politics Musical" which played for a about 10 weeks at a small theater called the Pocket Theater in lower Manhattan (seems it was only open for a few years). The cast was headlined by Carole Dumas who later originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Clifton Davis. The play was a smash hit playing to a packed house off-broadway and was scheduled to move to a true Broadway run but... the financing turned out to have mob connections and the whole thing collapsed (the irony!). Premiered against the backdrop of the 1968 Nixon/Humphrey/Wallace election. A fantastic piece of theater history / political history / Americana. Many other great playbills in my listings -- happy to consider reasonable offers and combine shipping on multiple items won. Thank you!
