Description: Original CONGDON apple box/apple crate label. From the 1910s for extra fancy (dessert) apples grown at wide hollow in the valley of the Yakima from Congdon Orchards in North Yakima, Washington. In 1918 North Yakima became Yakima so this label is before then. Great looking label showing the Congdon's house Westhome...called Congdon Castle by the locals. Congdon Orchards had 400 acres of land in the Wide Hollow area of the Yakima Valley mostly in apple and pear orchards. Next to the tower of the castle are four trees and Mt Adams in the distance.Label is in fair condition BECAUSE IT HAS MULTIPLE BORDER TEARS, A NICK OUT OF THE LEFT BORDER, A WHITE DOT (Paint?) ON THE FRONT & WAS TAPED ON THE BACK OVER SOME OF THE TEARS - see photos. Label is sold AS IS so look carefully at the photos. I will combine shipping on auctions.
