Description: Original 1891 antique color lithographed street map of Omaha, Nebraska, printed more than 130 years ago. The map labels railroads and shows streetcar lines, parks, and the Swift, Armour, and Fowler Brothers meat-packing plants. Among the other named places and features on the map are the Omaha Driving Park, Florence Lake, Union Stock Yards, West Lawn Station, Fort Omaha, State Mute Institute, Spring Lake Park, the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad, Powder Magazine, Bemis Park, Pumping House, and the bridge across the Missouri River to Council Bluffs, Iowa. This map was compiled by George Franklin Cram and published by the American Book Concern, Bank Building, Chicago in Iliff's Imperial Atlas of the World, 1891. John W. Iliff was Cram's son-in-law. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. The image area measures 33 x 26.5 cm [13" x 10½"]. Dashed lines show streetcar routes. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no rips, tears, or writing. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. There's a street map of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the reverse side, in similar style and format. Either map would make a very handsome display in your den or office. It would also make a perfect gift, and we'll include our helpful framing tips for your reference, along with a photocopy of the dated title page from the book in which it was published.
