The side one letter is dated Aug. 8th, 1865 and is "Special Order No. 149" as follows: III Capt. W.H. Wolcott U.S.A. having reported at this office in accordance with S.O. No. 367 Hd'q's A.A.P.M. Gen'l Northern Division U.S. Aug. 7, 1865 is hereby assigned to duty as mustering officer in this Division. By Order of Bvt. Lieut. Col. Dodge U.S.A. N. Prime Bvt. Lieut. Col. U.S.A. A.A.A.G. Side two is dated Sept. 8, 1865 and is "Special Orders No. 174 - III Captain W.H. Wolcott U.S.A. Mustering Officer will immediately proceed to Hart Island, NYH relieving Captain C.T.
