Hokkaido Island, Japan ~ May 1951 ~ This is one of many rare color slides I'm listing this week taken at the onset of the Korean War dating from May & June of 1951. They document the 45th Infantry Division "Thunderbirds" stationed at Camp Monte Strong on Hokkaido Island, Japan unless otherwise noted. Titled slide reads: "Jack Islen - CO of "C" Co.". I'm unfamiliar with the sub-groups of the 45th Infantry Division so I'm unsure if they had a "C" Co. I assume that CO stands for Commanding Officer...and I think I'm reading his name right from the penned title. The 2nd slide was taken just after the first (#'s 18 & 19) mentions the word "Patrol". 35mm Mount Measures 2 x 2 Inches. Mounts Excellent. Films with Few Light Scratches. Coyotechrist watermark and dotted line are for protection of buyer and seller and do not appear on the original slide(s) you'll receive.
