Description: >Offered here is an old & original 1918 POLICE GAZETTE Sporting Annual!! Please see all eleven photos, as they are an important part of my description. Usually found heavily worn, the offered example is highly presentable and very solid (see detailed description below). This century-old+ sports annual measures a smallish 4 1/4" x 3" and contains well over 200 pages of "Records, Statistics and Best Performances" with a heavy emphasis on the sport of Boxing/Pugilism. The annual also covers Athletics (track and field), Baseball, Hockey, Football, Swimming, Rowing and Trotting/Racing (horse racing). The annual was published by Richard K. Fox (fourth photo). Pictured on the front cover is boxer Benny Leonard. Other full-page photos in the annual include: Chicago White Sox's Clarence Rowland; actress Marie Dressler; boxer Jess Willard; swimmer Claire Galligan; race car driver Dario Resta; trotter horse St. Frisco; thoroughbred race horse Omar Khayyam; champion cowboy Yakima Canutt and baseball's Grover Cleveland Alexander. There are other full-page pics of sporting figures as well. <>Condition: this antique sports publication has a slightly musty odor with some discoloration to both covers, but is in *Fine Shape* otherwise! The binding staples exhibit some tarnish. The spine/binding is solid (see third photo). Interior pages are clean and intact!
