Description: The Order of Lenin, named after the leader of the Russian October Revolution, was established by the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party on April 6, 1930. The order was the highest civilian decoration bestowed by the Soviet Union. It was awarded both to civilians and to soldiers. This is a faithful replica of Type 4 of the medal which was awarded from 1943 to 1991 when the USSR was dissolved. It measures 3 ½ inches top to bottom and weighs 23 grams.
