Description: ONLY 3 LEFT of the type of check from October 1879. This is a lot of 5 used checks from 1871 to 1901. They areall different checks from The First National Bank of Morristown, New Jersey. All of these checks have applied US Internal Revenue stamps. They all have some punctures on them from the way that the bank canceled the checks. Old checks had to be cut apart with scissors or simply torn with a straight edge, like three here. The check from October 1879 appears to be a pre cut single. The check from 1901 has perforations. The Revenue stamps were required by law to be canceled to prevent reuse. All writing was done with pen and hand dipped ink. No ball point pens here. Free shipping with Ebay Standard Envelope with tracking and insurance. The tracking is not like regular USPS tracking. With this type of tracking there is no scan at the drop off location. The first scan is when it gets to the major distribution hub near Richmond. No more scans until it gets near the destination. I use recycled shipping materials whenever I can for extra protection and conservation. Lower 48, no international sorry.
