The manufacturer calls these "slate blue" but they look more "gray" to us. Named after the giant, "King Lizard" dinosaur that dominated Western North American in the late Cretaceous Period, they are an exceptional Estate discovery that we were fortunate to find. The box had never been opened and included an invoice from Mega Marbles by Vacor dated in the early 2000's. Known as "First Year" marbles, they are generally the best quality and colors available. The glass used to make them was of a higher quality than subsequent years. These marbles are highly sought after as collectibles, very hard to find and will surely create a conversation whenever used or displayed! While each batch of marbles can be slightly different depending on the glass used to make them, there are other variables such as the temperature of the glass when put in the machine, the temperature of the machine, and the ambient air temperature that will affect the final product. These factors can make the colors on the marbles vary slightly from batch to batch. For instance, if you order red marbles some of them may be dark red and the next batch be a lighter red. Sometimes we try to take pictures of a variety of marbles of the same color if they appear to have any slight differences that we feel should be noted.
