Publisher Description The work of award-winning poet, performance artist, actor, and musician Linda J. Albertano and her husband of 55 years, Frank Lutz, is collected in On the Life of Linda J. Albertano, including poetry, stories, and prose, as well as memorabilia from Lindas astounding performance career. Linda J. Albertano, award-winning poet and Poetry Diva of the City of Los Angeles, was an enchantress, musician, performance artist, actress, and filmmaker. As a child, she was reared in various unkindly foster homes. But this six-foot-four beauty with brains excelled and made her art speak for her. Frank Lutz was Lindas lover, husband, partner, and best friend for more than 55 years. While Frank was the quiet one of the pair, his experiences as an athlete, scholar, pilot, sailor, and European aficionado provided the kernel for much of his narrative poetry. Together they were creative scholastic gems. Author Biography Linda was a phenomenon from the 1960s to the 2020s. Reared as a child in various unkind foster homes in Denver, Colorado, she excelled as a student in high school and at the University of Colorado, and later at UCLA film school. She was a beauty with brains, and early on perfected her skills in Los Angeles. Her songs were recorded by Linda Ronstadt and Taj Mahal, et al., and her stagecraft on world tours by the American impresario Alice Cooper and troupe. She did solo performances in North America, Europe, and Africa. In Los Angeles, she was honored with the title of Poetry Diva. Linda performed in over 300 venues since the 1960s, including the Getty Center and the John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles, the Long Beach Arena, the October Gallery in London, the One World Poetry Festival in Amsterdam, the summer Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and many others. She was commissioned by Santa Monica, CA, Long Beach Harbor, CA, and other cities to do public performances and environmental studies in poetic forms. Media reviews of her performances were always glowing with appreciative praise. Sadly, this majestic icon, who by many was an "eternal" lover of humanity and art, passed away on September 13, 2022. It was left to her loving husband, Frank Lutz, to put together her archives and poetry of almost sixty years for the public to see and cherish. So welcome, Dear Reader, to the art and soul of our dear Linda Albertano. Read the poetic words of this fine wordsmith. Poet and Performance Artist, musician, filmmaker, brilliant with ideas, florid with emotion, and truth-teller with her unique picture of relations between the sexes, and events in the world at large! See for yourself-and you will never forget her. The way this lady of poetry writes will set your mind on fire with emotion and ideas! If you want to see how a master mixes words, its all here for you in these three volumes. Frank Lutz is a poet with an understated narrative writing style. He attended universities in France, Italy, and Germany; and graduated from UCLA, Summa Cum Laude with his wife, Linda. He possesses a Vatican passport and is called Dottore Lutz in the Vatican Secret Archives. Frank also has a commercial pilots license, and anFAA pilot instructor certificates. He and Linda married twice and were together for 55 years. Suzanne Lummis was the 5th recipient of Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Centers George Drury Smith Award for Excellence in Poetry and a 2018/19 City of Los Angeles Fellow, an endowment to artists and writers enabling them to create a new body of work. She is among the few whove defined the poem noir, and poetry.la produces her series on film noir and contemporary poetry, "They Write by Night" featuring poems by poets local and national. In 2023 she guest-edited a special Noir issue of the international publication Pratik, which features poetry, fiction, non-fiction and essays exploring noir subject matter in the noir style. Last year, the Los Angeles Times named her poem, "Really Mystic River", one of 14 essential Los Angeles "poems or collections of poetry" in its article "The Ultimate L.A. Bookshelf." Shes published three poetry collections, Idiosyncrasies, In Danger, and Open 24 Hours; the last a winner of the Blue Lynx Prize, and published by Blue Lynx Press, and her poems have appeared in literary publications across the country and in The New Yorker. Her phone calls to Linda J. Albertano and Laurel Ann Bogen with the suggestion "Lets join forces and make something happen" led to the founding of Nearly Fatal Women.
