Film-testing will include a light-leak "stress test" in which I try to induce light leaks in full sunlight.When overhauling a Pen EES, I follow a pragmatic policy of assessing and testing all functions (including testing e.g. meter accuracy and shutter speed) and addressing faults that I find. I do not repair/clean/adjust mechanisms that don't need it, as "fixing what's not broken" is more likely to cause issues than to fix anything. Therefore you must understand that this repair service is performed in accordance with my judgment and experience, and not a fixed/predefined checklist. (I do have a checklist. Examine some of my listings of refurbished cameras to see it.) A Pen EES is a bit harder to service than a related camera such as a Trip 35, mostly because there are a lot more light seals and removing them correctly is just plain time-consuming, especially if they are very tarry and/or have eaten into the camera's paint. Unfortunately, this happens fairly often. If the camera's paint is damaged, there's nothing I can do about that (I don't strip and repaint cameras). Also, these older cameras had earlier grease formulations and often it's seized and must be 100% stripped and replaced, requiring disassembly down to individual pieces. All this is to say, I charge a bit more for an EES than a Trip 35 or EES-2. The following are NOT included unless you contact me to discuss:Replacement of any parts missing or damaged beyond repair is NOT included. The only place I can get spare parts is from buying cameras for parts, and if you check what sellers think a "parts copy" is worth you'll understand why parts are expensive. Additionally, it's almost always a part that is likely to be failed on a parts-copy. So, replacement parts are extra cost, and you can count on paying basically the cost of a whole camera. If you need parts, you might want to buy your own parts copy and send both to me. If you don't want the remainder of the parts copy I might give a discount if I can keep it (depending on which other good parts it has).If the camera is disassembled or has been damaged by improper operation or improper repair attempts, this may require additional parts or labor and is NOT includedI will not replace the original leather unless it is seriously damaged. Contrary to what you may read on various websites, a proper servicing doesn't require removing the leatherette fully, and the original can be retained, and it's best to do so. Sometimes very early copies have fragile leatherette with very hard glue and it does get damaged on lifting the corners, but this is quite seldom.If anything about your camera is unusual or requires service out of the ordinary, please message me in advance to discuss any specifics and I will confirm/accept. You must package your camera carefully and follow shipping instructions given via eBay messages after purchase. Once I receive your camera I will assess its condition and operation and message you with findings and get your permission to proceed; in most cases I will then proceed, message you with results, and ship back to you.
