Description: This is an old, vintage, handmade, letterpress printing block that says “GUARANTEED FAST COLOURS.” The letters appear to be made of copper that are skillfully pressed/hammered into the wood blocks. The 3 wood blocks are fashioned together by strong, tight roping. This may have been used for bandanas or other textiles and it appears only lightly used as there is not a great deal of ink on the blocks or around letters. This block is in good condition and sturdy. I do not have any information regarding the provenance/history of this piece. The block measures 6.25 inches and 1.125 inches wide. The lettering measures a total of 5.5 inches long. The letters are 3/8 of an inch wide (9.52mm). I did not have a stamp pad good enough nor large enough for providing an example of the print, but was able to capture “COLOURS” on paper. Please view photos.
