Old Foley James Kent Pink CHINESE ROSE 10 3/4” Round Cake Plate Yellow Birds Vtg

Description: This is a 10 3/4" Cake Plate from Jame Kent Ltd, marked with the Old Foley Pottery backstamp. It is the CHINESE ROSE pattern featuring pink flowers, yellow flowers, and twisted branches with yellow birds on them. Please note there are different styles in this cake plate. The other version has a flower in the middle and the birds closer together. This would have been made sometime after 1955 but I can't pin the date down more than that. No cracks, no chips, no crazing. Colors are bright--I see some photos out there where the colors may have faded on the piece. Pink tends to be a very fugitive pigment--more likely to fade. There may be some wear to the green edge--I can't tell if it is a manufacturing issue or wear. I'm leaning toward "born that way) just because the plate does not look like it was used often. And, hooray, no terrible knife scars from having a cake cut on it!!! A really nice piece that looks like new--ready to shine on your table.
