Description: Here is an old cabinet card photo of a father and two sons standing outside with what looks like out buildings or a barn in the background. On the back is written: Samuel Jacobs Sr. & Jr. and brother Isaac Sylvester Jacobs. Brother of Samuel Jr. Samuel Sr. 1845 - 1917 Samuel Jr. 1876 - 1958. Also, in pencil is written SAM. I did some research and found this same photo online in a Jacobs family tree. The father Samuel Jacobs Sr. was born in 1845 in Robeson Township, Berks County, PA. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Bixler (1850 - 1914) and according to his death certificate was a farmer. He died in 1917 in Robeson Twp. and is buried with his wife in Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, also known as the Plow Church Cemetery. His son, Samuel Jr. was also born in Robeson Twp. and lived in the Geigertown section of the township. He married Sallie Fry (1878-1954) in 1904. According to his death certificate he was an auto mechanic. He and Sallie are buried in the same church as his parents. Isaac Sylvester Jacobs was the youngest child in the family, also born in Robeson Twp. His wife's name was Myrtle Buchanan (1892-1946). Isaac ran a grocery store and butcher shop. He and Myrtle are buried in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reiffton, Berks County. He died in Reading, also in Berks County, PA. The photo is nice and clear with minimal wear from age and storage.
