Description: This is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel. Heavy gauge - unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily. Very durable. Made around 1900. The white enamel is in bas relief, suggesting high quality craftsmanship and giving excellent definition. Surviving examples this age on the open market are exceptionally rare. FroM a street near Lyon in Rhône-Alpes. The second image of #500 shows that some have had a harder life than others. It is not included in this listing. 4" high 6" wide. This is the real thing from a real house in real France. Not a copy, not made yesterday.
