Description: Old Antique Treadle, Paragon Standard Sewing Machine Co 1899-1910 serial # 510977 Very old time and nice antique treadle machine from an estate. From what I can find, Paragon was manufactured by the Standard Sewing Machine Company and you can see that name on the iron work. The Paragon stenciling shows OK however has wear befitting its age and use. The only number that I could find anywhere was on the feeder plate so I do not know for sure if it is a serial or part number, therefore ??? (the last 2 photos show number and were added 9-11-23) If one was inclined it could probably be used, restored, or re-purposed into another stylish use. The mechanics work smoothly however there is no drive belt nor extra attachments. The wooden case has 4 drawers with latches and is in pretty good shape. It's metal wheels move and roll freely. There have been some laymen repairs made and could use more depending on your choice of use. The machine case is apx 35" wide and then about 50" when the flip top is open and outwards to the left, 30" tall, and 17" deep. The sewing machine itself is easily removable and weighs about 17 lbs. It's sewing parts also move freely however the needle is broke and would need replaced. The rest of the case and apparatus is around 67 lbs as best I can weigh on my bathroom scale. Some issues are: repair welds on portion of treadle, some missing small wood pieces on 3 of 4 drawers at the back and for 3 of the guides, liquid has raised some wood underneath top piece, the area where the machine cradles into has some repairs but does work, there are marks, scrapes and corrosion on some metal pieces, along with some gunk here and there. These machines used lubricants to run so there is residue. Please remember that this is a very old industrial machine from way "back in the day." I am no expert and try to point out things as honestly as I can to show in the photos.
