Description: This is likely a chefs kitchen slicing knife or all around Utility knife. If you had a sheath, no reason not to take by it into the field, as a hunting knife. A very handsome knife, expertly hand forged with an integral bolster and tapered tang. The blade is exquisitely sharpened and razor sharp. No damage. The worm grove jigged hafts are about perfect. As best I can read the chop, it reads: A Reuther/SA LZGITTE. I suspect it is missing (not visible ending letter) “r” on this word which is a steel making area/industry and a town in Germany. A. Reuphe would have been the seller/merchant. I do not know any specifics and I am making educated guesses. about any history. As far as knives are concerned, this one has been very well cared for and is in superb collectible/useable condition. The dimensions: OAL is 11.75”. The clip point Carbon steel blade is approx 7.25”.
