Description: Offered is the St. John Ambulance Brigade Badge. This one is for a hat or a beret or for your arm sleeve. Offered is the round badge only, the part with the wire holder is missing. These badges were worn by Ambulance Corps or Brigade members during WWII. This one is likely early 1940's vintage. It appears to be of aluminum construction-no attraction to a magnet. It has some tarnish on the front. The two copper wire holders on the back were hand soldered into place back in the day-they held a long two-wire compression-type brass pin with another part of the badge-these pieces are missing. These complete badges can be viewed on this site. The number on the front is as follows: Rd 111901 and on the back: 14065. 1 7/8 inches in diameter and a little curved. Pick up the uncommon badge for your own collection. Mouse over the photo images to zoom in. NO RESERVE!! Thanks for looking.
