Oil Storage Tank by Vollmer (TS 16-8043.5)

Description: Listing is for a discontinued/out-of-production, HO scale, gas/oil storage tank by Vollmer. Item number is 5725.This is an older plastic tank that has diagonal “wire” cross-bracing (actually nylon string, not wire). It is molded in three colors with metal handrails. It is approximately 5¼” tall by 6” wide.Tank has been partially assembled as shown in the pictures. Buyer will need to add remaining three boiler straps, second-level walkway and railing, ladders and handrails, clock, and gussets. If desired, buyer will also need to wire the bracing with the nylon string as shown in the instructions. (Instructions are in German but the diagrams are easy to follow.)Listed as used because it has been partially assembled and the top of the tank is not painted the same as the sides. Also, whoever installed the upright beams put some of them in backwards (protrusions for aligning the boiler straps were supposed to be aligned to the outside but some were not. Buyer can still align the straps by “eyeballing” the protrusions.Pictures reflect item actually being sold and is described as well as possible but is being sold “as is”. No figures or other accessories shown on the box lid are included.
