Description: This is an original SINGLE GM high performance cylinder head for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number on this head is 3917291. This casting is known as a “camel hump” or “camel back” head due to the double humps cast into the ends of the head. The camel hump heads were reserved for the higher performance Small Block Chevy engines. This particular head is set up for 1.94 inch intake and 1.50 inch exhaust valves which were used on 350/300HP engines. Chevy also used these heads with the larger 2.02 inch intake and 1.60 inch exhaust valves which were used on the Z/28 302 engines, LT-1 350 engines, and other solid lifter applications. Any competent machine shop can upgrade these heads to the larger valve sizes. This head has a casting date of F 26 7 which decodes as June 26th, 1967. This is a real deal 1967 dated camel hump head This is a very nice original 3917291 head. This recently came out of the estate of a machine shop owner who had this in his private stash. The head was cleaned and checked for cracks when he got it in and it was found to be a good core for rebuilding. The head is guaranteed to be crack free. There are no breaks, modifications, or repairs to this head. It is bare with no valves, springs, etc. The head is completely stock with no porting. All threads are in good shape with no helicoils for thread inserts. These 3917291 heads are becoming very hard to find in any condition. Don't miss this very clean unmodified single core head.
