It is a very heavily illustrated Progress Edition dedicated to the people who turned the beautiful old Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores near Oceanside into United States Marine Corps Training Center Camp Joseph H. Pendleton. Those people included everybody from construction companies and insignia suppliers, to cafés, photo studios, to California Governor Earl Warren and the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Special text and photo sections explain the history of the place, combat training, barracks, Marine Corps Raiders training, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, how the base fits into the San Diego County’s plans, chaplains, tanks, the Provost Marshal Force, filming of the movie Guadalcanal Diary at Camp Pendleton, engineer and artillery troops, camouflage, postwar planning, San Luis Rey Mission, the naval hospital, NCO Club, etc., etc. Our photos show the actual big and rare 81 year old magazine offered for sale. It is complete and in very good used, readable condition with some normal bruising and separation to parts of the spine, and two small pieces of scotch tape on the inside of the front cover.
