Description: Oakland CA CDV man w sideburns and moustache 1880s 1890s by William B. Ingersoll William Booker Ingersoll was a pioneer photographer of California, and his studio in the Broadway Block of Oakland was opened in 1869. Ingersoll died in 1904, so this photo is likely 1880s-1890s. The card measures 4.125 x 2.5 inches, and image measures 3.5 x 2.25 inches. The engraving on the card is simple. Light surface wear. Light soiling to card. Gentleman is not identified, but he does have a boutonniere in his lapel. On the reverse are these words: "Wm. B. Ingersoll,Photographer,Cor. Broadway and Twelfth StreetOAKLAND." Some fading and spotting to image. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process. I am always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases, so please check out my other listings. I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
