Here are some key details about the Sunfire Waterlily: FLOWERS: The Sunfire Waterlily produces large, eye-catching flowers that are typically a blend of fiery reds, oranges, and yellows. The petals are often multi-colored, creating a beautiful gradient effect. LEAVES: The leaves of the Sunfire Waterlily are usually round and green, providing a lush background for the bright flowers. Some varieties may have mottled or variegated leaves.Growth and Care SUN: Sunfire Waterlilies thrive in full sun, needing at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day to produce their best blooms. WATER DEAPTH: They prefer to be planted in water that is 1 to 3 feet deep. This depth allows the plants to grow robustly and flower prolifically. TEMPERATURE: These water lilies are generally hardy in USDA zones 3 to 11, making them suitable for a wide range of climates. SOIL: Use heavy clay or loamy soil for planting. Avoid using lightweight garden soil or potting mixes that can float away. PLANTING: When planting them, use your pot & fill with a heavy clay type dirt (the heavier the better; you don't want floating). After planting the tuber in said dirt & cover with an inch layer of sand (this will hold the dirt down). Then allow the top growth of the tuber to come up above the sand a little. If you have koi or goldfish in a pond, maybe zip tie the tuber to a rock inside the pot so they can't dig it up. Slowly submerge in the pond or larger container and sink it at least a foot and up to 3 foot below the surface of the water if you have a deeper pond. FERTILIZE: Regular fertilization is important for vibrant blooms. Use slow-release aquatic plant fertilizer tablets monthly during the growing season. Fertilize each month with a few aquatic fertilizer tabs pushed down in the soil. The lily will grow fast & will become root bound in the pot in 1 to 2 years (You will repot when this happens; best done when pads are growing in early spring). Repot with 1 to 2 tubers; this will give plenty of room for new growth. If you have any issues or have a question, send me a message.
