Description: This is a listing for a vintage pair of bear fetish earrings by master Zuni artist Raymond Gasper. They are new old stock. I purchased from a jeweler who had a Native American collection of vintage jewelry that had never been used and they've been carefully store since. These earrings are composed of turquoise, orange spiny oyster, and white marble. They are dangle drop earrings with a total length of 4" including sterling silver cones and ear wires. The main fetish is a standing bear composed of sky blue turquoise with some light tan matrix. The other two walking bears are composed of saturated orange spiny oyster and white marble with pale pink matrix. The sterling cones are stamped RG for Zuni silversmith Raymond Gasper, and "Sterling." There is a warm patina to the sterling. Top of each cone is secured with hand twisted sterling wire for a polished and sturdy construction. The ear wires are also sterling. Symetrical brown pen shell heishi have been hand cut and drilled and used to string the bears. Each bear fetish was hand cut from stone and expertly hand carved and polished by the artist. Turquoise heishi is used to accent top and bottom of each bear as well. The heishi is a rich brown color and makes a warm contrast to the colorful stone bears. Combined weight is a comfortable yet substantial 11grams. They are in mint condition. These are long earrings and make a statement! I will ship UPS ground.
