Description: Item: For offer is a rare opportunity to own a never ridden nor mounted pair of 26 x 1.95 Tioga Farmer John tires from the late 80s to early 90s. This auction is for two tires. If you are restoring a Tomac Mongoose or early Yeti, these are the tires to have (besides the Farmer John Cousin). That said, please read the detailed description about condition below. History: These were manufactured by Mitsuboshi of Japan and originally offered as the Duro model, but later got rebranded under the Tioga label when they sponsored John Tomac in his transition from BMX to mountain bike racing. Sizing: These are labeled as 1.95 inches and pretty much measure up when mounted to 1" wide rims. Condition: The rubber knobs are soft and the sidewalls are pliable as if brand new. All sidewall threads are intact and nothing is flaking or coming loose. That said, the tire beads are hard and likely to slip on a rim when ridden. When flexing and rolling the rubber tread, no cracking is apparent. However, it is possible that when mounted and inflated cracks in the rubber may appear. For all of these reasons they should be considered display-only at low pressure or at most used for light street cruising. Obviously, each pair of tires will respond differently to mounting and inflation, which is left up to the buyer. Shipping: The tires will be shipped flat in a wheel or rim box and will not be folded.
