NOS GM 6-Volt Delco 417A Battery 1949-1952 Oldsmobile 1940-1952 Cadillac

Description: Selling this new old stock GM Delco 417A DC-12 Series 6-Volt top post battery. This battery is dry, and has never been filled with acid. Serial # 02342. This battery was manufactured between 1984-1987 (see label pics), but this fits 1949-1952 Oldsmobile V8 only cars, 1940-1952 Cadillac cars, 1939-1955 Chryslers, 1936-1955 Desoto, 1954-1955 Dodge 6-cylinders, & 1954-1955 Plymouth 6-cylinders. This too may fit other years and models. Please do your research and compare to your car prior to buying to verify this fitment. I do not see any labeling on here that informs you of the cold cranking amps. Aquired from a massive estate of a gentleman who worked in a GM dealership parts department for many decades. Been stored away for many years. New in the original GM box. Never used or installed. Comes with the original cardboard post protectors, packaging protector caps (one has some wear), and the final clear caps that are still sealed in the original GM bag. Battery is visually in great condition with just a few minor (nothing serious) scratches from years of shelf wear. No cracks or breaks. Great color tone. The front side label has some waviness to it in spots where the glue must be separating slightly (see pics). Battery posts look good and have never seen a battery cable. Top label has never been date punched and is fully in tact. Box has wear and is torn in one corner but is still mostly in tact. There are instructions on the box on how to activate this with acid (see pic). This does not come with any acid and will need aquired by the buyer and installed by the buyer if plans are for use. I have not tested this battery, but I would assume it may be functional after adding acid and charging but no guarantees. Dimensions are 10-3/16" long x 6-3/4" wide x 8" tall (see pics). With the front label facing you, the positive terminal is on the front RH side and the negative terminal is on the rear LH side. These terminals are about 7-1/2" apart center on center. This battery is sold completely AS IS with No Warranty and No Returns accepted. Considering the condition of the box, this is not totally perfect, so please do not buy if you're expecting absolute perfection. Please remember this is a 37-40 year old item.
