Bought from dealer. Rare to find this stuff these days. Jewelry for the fastest Trans Am ever made. PLEASE UNDERSTAND:The hood emblem in this kit is one of the very early production which had the same color background of the original cars and matching the sail panel emblems center color. (we are talking about the colour of the center area with the horizontal lines behind the white bird). The later factory hood emblems had a lighter color in the center field which didn't match the sail panel emblems or the original car. I have one of the later ones also. I saved this particular one rather than putting it on any of my TTA's because I know how rare it is and I know it starts deteriorating as soon as you put him on the car. The point of this essay is that in all my years this is the only one of these I have ever been able to get. It was so precious to me that I refused to ever put it on a car. I always used the lighter color ones. The late factory ones had too light a color and the repros also had too light a color because they matched one of the late ones. Understand too that all my knowledge is at least 15 years old so things may have changed. (there may be repros now that have proper color). But I don't put repro parts on my cars and I never have done. These remarkable cars will eventually blow up in value because of it's rarity and speed. It's the 1980s equivalent of a vintage Hemi Cuda. As generations age and become wealthy I am sure these cars will go up, especially for low mileage unmolested cars. If you doubt this, consider that I sold my last TTA for $100,000 approx. 5 years ago. It was in Hemmings for $150k and I negotiated down to $100k. (this was a TTA ragtop of which only 2 were made and was sold to a prominent third gen guy). I regret the sale, but... I don't think I will ever need these beautiful emblems. How about you taking them and using them to turn your car into something which looks brand new, and will impress everyone. I have bought 4 TTA's in my life. 2 used, 2 new old stock. The thing that impressed most of my friends about the new cars, as opposed to the used ones was the shine of these gold emblems which are really like jewels. When the used car and the new one were parked together, the only way to tell them apart was the gold shine of the new emblems. So, make your car really shine like this.
